START OF A NEW WORK CYCLE

Following a public procurement procedure, new work cycle of the refurbishment of  village roads, in five villages of the City Municipality of Palilula, is expected to begin in early November. Thanks to the project of Municipality of Palilula, and support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the City of Nis, by the end of this year and early next year, 6.34 km of road will be done road in the Municipality of Palilula. According to Boban Džunić, President of Municipality of Palilula, the value of this investment will amount to 4.580 million. The funds for this year's investment are provided from the state budget in the competition for the approval and use of financial incentives for the implementation of investment and other investments - programs and projects in the field of protection, development and use of agricultural land for the 2013th. Over the past year, added president Džunić, only in Palilula, village roads in an area of ​​51,600 m2 are done. Their overall length is of 12,900 meters, width of 4 meters, and are worth about eight million dinars.  

In order to prepare specific locations and agreement with representatives of Citizens, Council of Municipal Administration has organized a tour of the village Cokot and  Gornje Međurovo. As told by Marija Brajdić, Head of Administration of Municipality of Palilula, in the village Cokot roads will be constructed with a length of 900m, in a location of three elm (450m) and in the direction of the South Morava river (450m). Gornje Međurovo's seen as an investment to build a country roads of 1.250m, in  a location of Gamilica (650m) and turn Paraspur (Bubanj Selo), with a distance of 600 meters.

Sasha Stojiljkovic, Head of Agriculture of City of Nis, and Ivana Krstic, head of the department of agricultural land and water management of the city administration  reminded that they they will revitalize and build 26.05 kilometers of country roads in the City of Nis area. This is the third time that the City of Niš and municipalities receive financial support from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management for these purposes. The approved funds will be used for: mechanical excavation of land resources, planning and rolling the layers; leveling base; filling in a hilly gravel (stone aggregate) to a thickness of 15 cm, spreading gravel, rolling and tamping of the roads.

In the territory of Municipality of Palilula, there are 15 villages which rely on a narrower part of the city. The total acreage of Palilula is 7,395 hectares. Of these 6,648 acres are arable land, and pastures consist of 747 hectares. In the "Strategic Development Plan", in the words of President Boban Džunić, we have provided a revival of activity in the villages as a primary task, and that is expected to be the basis for sustainable development of our community in the future.
